Here we have a lovely spring sporting jacket made from a rare archival taken from Scotland's Breanish Tweed.
Breanish Tweed is a small family owned company located on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. It’s a company that has won the prestigious Balvenie Masters of Craft award for textiles and whose patrons range from Royal Families to people of note in the world of business, fashion and art.
This particular offering has wonderful coloration unusual to tweeds from this company but is the perfect cloth to reflect its wearer's essence. Mr. M is a gentleman in the truest and most succinct representation of the word. His English, dictation and delivery of the English language leave many of us here in shame, however it is not his first language. From a family of physicians, Mr. M was home schooled in a foreign land to and is currently doing post-graduate work towards a doctorate of his own.
The jacket created for him is built to be a versatile and playful piece incorporating a bit of ruggedness in the form of brogue leatherwork done in the same colours of the fibres used in the beautiful watch tartan. Eyelets in tarnished pewter are used as venting areas and detail the work of the atelier.
